Spurs loving host of Rock 'N' Roll Football.
About Russ Williams
Russ joined Virgin Radio at its launch in 1993 where he presented the award winning 'Russ and Jono' Breakfast Show for nearly five years. He's been a fixture at One Golden Square ever since and is one of the most iconic voices in commercial radio.
Inducted into the Radio Academy Hall Of Fame in 2013, Russ has won countless Radio Academy Awards and anchors our Barclays Premier League coverage with Ian Wright.
Trained at London's National Broadcasting School in Programming and Journalism, Russ won the school's 'Most Outstanding Student' award. This led to a 'man Friday' job at Brighton's Southern Sound Radio where he eventually went onto host the stations mid-morning show, before moving briefly to Finland where he presented his own show on Helsinki's Radio 1.
Russ returned to the UK and joined Newcastle's Metro Radio. He then defected to London's Capital Radio to present the Weekend Breakfast Show, which remained his domain for three years, and he often stood in as holiday relief for Chris Tarrant. He was also chosen to present The Rebel Yell Rock Machine show which was syndicated across the commercial radio network.
A long suffering but devoted Spurs fan, Russ has had two best-selling books published. He was the first host of Soccer AM and has hosted live football and boxing coverage for Sky Sports and ITV.
He enjoys playing golf, collecting retro toys, studying UFO's and walking his dog Lottie around the woods and fields of Hertfordshire...he is also a leading expert on bonsai trees and Japanese gardens.
