About Christian O'Connell
Christian O'Connell wakes you up on weekday mornings. As well as winning more Radio Academy awards than anyone else, he's a stand-up comedian, author, TV Presenter and self-confessed shabby Dad.
His show is the only one to come with 7 different playlists depending which Absolute Radio station you listen on. His feature 'Who's Calling Christian...' has attracted a host of celebrity guests, and he even received a phone call from Tony Blair during his time in office. He's interviewed the world's biggest rock-stars including the Rolling Stones, U2, Muse, Coldplay and Elmo from Sesame Street.
He's a huge fan of martial arts and appeared as a presenter and commentator for the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts. He also recently presented 'UFC: Beyond the Octagon' for BT Sport 1.
Christian took his debut stand-up show 'This is 13' to the Edinburgh Comedy Festival last summer. The show focused on his race against time to complete a list of dreams made when Christian was 13. He returned in 2014 with the sold-out 'Breaking Dad', documenting the trials and tribulations of fatherhood. This then led into a nationwide tour.
On TV Christian has presented shows for ITV, Sky One and Channel Five. He appeared on ITV Two's 'Back on the Job' where he went back to being a bin man, local radio presenter and telesales operative. Christian has also appeared on The Weakest Link, but he was terrible so we'll move on.
A husband, a Dad, a dog-lover, a Southampton fan and a man who loves a nice red wine and a box-set
